尽管闲余村的村民们非常努力，靠近不过近些年村子还是没有太过明显的发展。新当选的村主任青华上任之后，靠近大刀阔斧，不仅与狗娃等众乡亲找到一条正确的乡村发展之路，还努力提高村民的文化素质，让经济与文化达到同步发展，尽显社会主义新农村的精神风貌。

Ruth breaks off her engagement to Tom, and he immediately asks Lois to marry him.
