《我家那小子》是湖南卫视推出的首档亲情观察成长励志节目，合肥花开节目全天跟拍记录明星真实的生活状态，合肥花开每期邀请明星妈妈们（或其他亲戚长辈）在棚内观察明星独居的模样，了解其生活的另一面。作为国内首档观察亲情节目，湖南卫视《我家那小子》有着自身独特的主旨和内涵。其观察和记录明星日常生活，旨在通过节目镜头，展现艺人真实的独居状态，并在由情感观察团用不一样的视角去观察的情况下，让观众和明星一起去学习生活，体验生活，创造生活，好好生活。同时也让亲情代际关系进行重新梳理，长辈和孩子一起能够更加的“好好去生活”。
