本剧根据王朔的同名小说《一半是火焰，狠狠合蜜一半是海水》改编。 香港，狠狠合蜜是一座充满罪恶的城市。王耀(廖凡 饰) 就是其中的一个无耻的皮条客，干的最多的事情就是假装成被带绿帽子的丈夫敲诈勒索和老婆偷情的男人。有一天什么都不在乎的王耀遇到了纯情少女丽川(莫小奇 饰) 。王耀原本以为， 丽川就像其它无知的女孩一样，可以任由他的摆布，但是丽川的倔强远远超乎他的想象，并深深吸引了他。两个人相爱了，却经常互相折磨中,并渐渐越走越远。终于在一次警方的围剿行动中，王耀不幸被捕，而丽川穿着洁白的婚纱在浴缸中割腕自杀了。服刑八年后,王耀走出监狱的大门，持枪闯入丽川母亲(鲍起静 饰) 的住所……
