繁华匆忙的都市丛林中，亚洲生活着一个毫不起眼的小人物牛大伟（陈佩斯 饰）。他做着最底层的工作，亚洲削尖脑袋寻找发财的机会，但富贵优渥的生活仿佛天生与之绝缘。他追求莉莉（岳秀清 饰）很长时间，可是女孩爱慕虚荣，早已暗中将其踢出了候选人的名单。在心情落寞时节，大伟突然接到一通赛律师（吕齐 饰）的电话，对方通知他住在德国汉堡的叔叔留下了一千多万元的遗产，而想合法继承的条件只有一条，那就是大伟必须在七八个月内证明自己有儿子。在四处寻找儿子的过程中，大伟和莉莉从事玩具设计的表妹玉雯（薛白 饰）有了更多的接触，更得知对方怀孕的消息。奇妙而有趣的渊源将两人联系到了一起……
