回复 :New York pretentious Diana Sullivan is writing a series of articles on the theme of "family" for Cosmopolitan magazine. Primarily to keep an eye on her but also because of the personal connection, Diana invites her mid-teen daughter, Grace Sullivan, to accompany her on a trip to research the next in the series, dealing with their own family, most specifically a wing that lives deep in the backwaters of the Louisiana bayou, which has been largely overtaken by oil companies of late. They are most directly connected by brothers: Diana's grandfather Mike, and Joe, the patriarch of the Louisiana wing. Diana and Grace have never met their Louisiana relations, they in turn who do not even know that Diana and Grace exist. 回复 :三十岁北漂多年的叶清，曾因父母的不支持放弃了跳舞。如今在服装租赁公司做着小职员，却受到公司老板的骚扰，并在最脆弱的时候未婚夫弃她而去。陷入人生低谷的叶清无意间看到舞团招募学员，犹豫再三决定抛开一切追求舞蹈梦想。在舞团叶清误打误撞结识了年轻的舞蹈老师梁磊，梁磊对叶清充满好奇并一见钟情。在梁磊的帮助下叶清进步很快，也慢慢产生了感情。但梁磊昔日舞伴于晓月的出现打破了宁静。为了得到梁磊，于晓月提出与叶清在舞蹈比赛中一较高，并使出一系列手段污蔑叶清。在一次意外中，于晓月被叶清救下后终于醒悟。最终于晓月获得冠军，同时坦诚了自己的错误。而叶清和梁磊也确认了彼此的心意，走到了一起。
回复 :Tom Powers（詹姆斯·卡格尼 James Cagney 饰）和他的好友Matt Doyle（Edward Woods 饰）从小就在一起厮混，喜欢做些小偷小摸的事情，为此Tom没少挨他哥哥Mike（Donald Cook 饰）的骂，然而Tom死性不改。Tom和Matt两人还结识了Putty Nose（Murray Kinnell 饰），一个帮派成员。两人长大了一些之后，在Putty Nose的怂恿下，两人和另外一个少年一起去一个商店盗窃，却因Putty Nose的出卖，两人险些被捕，另外一个少年则丧门。两人于是转而投靠Paddy Ryan，那时候美国禁酒令开始实行，两人和Paddy做起私酒生意，混得风生水起，还认识了一个帮派头目"Nails" Nathan。后来一战爆发，Mike参军，临走前试图劝Tom退出帮派，Tom没有听。等到Mike退役回家的时候，Tom和Matt已是帮派里面有头有脸的人物，也都有了自己的情人。随着Nathan的意外死亡，帮派火并就要开始了.....该片获得1931年第四届奥斯卡最佳剧本提名。
