在某金融厅长的私人酒会上，国产人过中年有着成熟稳重气质的某出版社高管中村琉依（铃木京香 饰）结识了比自己小17岁的前金融厅年轻人铃木行（长谷川博己 饰）。由于对现有经济体制不满而退出，国产资助成立了证券公司。琉依慧眼识英雄，不顾对方反感鼓动铃木撰写金融厅方面的书籍。最终琉依提供的企划书成功帮助铃木出版新书，后者对金融界的远见卓识使之一跃成为万众期待的金融王子，而他和琉依相互吸引，渐渐羁越世俗的樊篱，成为一对不伦恋人。铃木的妻子万理江（深田恭子 饰）系出名门，又是餐饮界有名的女强人，使得铃木和琉依的恋情充满艰辛。这似乎是一段遭到诅咒的爱情，注定经受无数的磨难……
