辛子明太子を日本で初めて製造、年轻年纪販売した「ふくや」の創業者・川原俊夫をモデルに、年轻年纪2013年に放送された同名テレビドラマの劇場版。ドラマ版同様に主人公を博多華丸、その妻を富田靖子がそれぞれ演じる。昭和30年代、戦後最大の引揚港であった福岡は戦争の傷跡を残したまま復興を遂げようとしていた。焼け跡となっていた福岡の中洲で食料品店「ふくのや」を開業した海野俊之は、妻の千代子とともに小さな店を切り盛りしていた。そんな俊之が博多の祭りである「博多祇園山笠」と同様に情熱を傾けていたのが、めんたいこ作りだった。自身が納得できる味になかなかたどり着くことができず、改良に改良を重ねる試行錯誤の毎日を送る中で俊之が耳にしたのが、息子・健一の同級生である英子の存在だった。両親を亡くして親戚のもとで暮らす英子は、遠足に行くための新しい靴やリュックサックも買えない境遇におかれていたが……。
