回复 :桂美（杨惠姗）孤身从南京来到台湾寻找未婚夫未果，暂住表姐家中，却被当下等佣人对待，为摆脱寄人篱下的生活，她委身下嫁遭妻子遗弃的中年男人侯永年（李立群），成为三个孩子的继母，可是因为侯永年的嗜赌如命兼外养女人，令她犹如刚出狼窝又入虎穴。生下孩子后，桂美为了生计同侯永年远赴日本替人帮佣，又因机缘在当地一家中国餐馆学得一手好厨艺后返回台湾，独立开了“霞飞之家”餐厅，可是在她勤俭持家之时侯永年却故态复萌，而更让她觉寒心的，是长大成人各有成就的子女以及媳婿的自私与无情。
