本片发生在上世纪五十年代，海阔佛朗哥统治之下的安达卢西亚。恩里克与卡门一见钟情，海阔坠入了爱河。卡门通过自己叔父的关系，为恩里克在当地政府谋得了一个军官的职位。然而对于每天面对的不公，恩里克无法无动于衷，他决定加入叛军，反抗不公的国家机器。在他参与的行动过程中，遇到越来越多志同道合的战斗伙伴，甚至发现他的女友卡门就是叛军的首领。在一次执行任务中，他们得到监狱看管的帮助，解救了一名伙伴被囚禁的儿子，但他们却不得不逃离西班牙…
